unknown option "NMBCLUSTERS"

I had a problem compiling the kernel with the NMBCLUSTERS option. I eventually compiled the kernel without it. I understand that this option is relevant only for older kernels. Is this correct? (I am using FreeBSD 6.3-RELEASE)

options HZ=1000
options NMBCLUSTERS=32678
